Eco Art

“Beth is a creative spring board for the soul!”
—Marge C.

Eco-Art = any art form used to capture the beauty of earth; illuminate environmental issues; reconnect us ‘from whence we come.’ Art, created on behalf of, the earth.

When I first began my position as Education Director and Climate Creatives Chair, for the Climate Reality Project here in Dallas/Ft. Worth, I said to the group, if we can’t make being an eco-activist sexy, can we at least make it fun?

I started my adventure in Eco-Art using my background in theatre to create earth themed material.

Some of my creations include:

Tree Speak: Wisdom from Trees to lift the heart

8 video shorts, about 8 minutes total, of inspiration from trees. My job was simply to listen. (Available to watch in stand-alone shorts or in one cohesive piece in playlists)

Mama Pla Pla: Plant or Plastic

Mama Pla Pla is a most delightful character who loves sharing tidbits about all things related to plant vs plastic.

Earth, Moon & Sun: Sight into Sound

Amazing eclipse shadows, into bird song, into song.

Being Green & Other Mysteries

Five young cousins each receive a mysterious letter telling them to meet in the park by the family farm. They are told that “Five will arrive, feeling alive” but they don’t know who or what to expect. A profound quest ensues for their individual lessons as well as how to live upon the earth in right way.

(A show for all ages, running just under an hour. Filmed in storytelling format, with 5 young actors.)

What do the Elders mean when they say we have all been living in “The Story of Separation?” How can we shift into “The Story of Connection,” on the inside and outside of us?

Beth Bando illuminates the rippling effects of separation and provides doable steps to support our shift into connection, becoming whole and cultural healing.
